Rapid Releasing
As I mentioned in my last blog, I am trying new things. A new way of writing, editing and planning. As part of this, I am happy to try rapid releasing my new series.
I had originally wanted to use the working title of ‘Demi-wood Academy’ as at the time of planning, I had no idea of what to call it. I knew the stories would be set in an Academy but unlike my previous sets of books, the school setting would merely be a background as opposed to another character. So I have a new series name: The Unpyre Chronicles.
I would normally write a book then get it edited straight away. But I’ve been so caught up with this latest plot that I’ve already written book one, two-thirds of books two and planned book three. My intention is to edit all three once I have finished so I don’t miss any key details out. I did try to edit book one before Christmas but every time I did a new idea would pop up causing a re-write. So I am just going to run with it and do each book one at a time.
I know it means waiting a while for book one, so here’s another sneak excerpt from book one:
“ In just a few moments, the Annual Unpyre Hunt will begin. If everyone could find their way to the spears…,” My father trails off with formalities. Tia’s face contorts as she still doesn’t understand what’s going on. Zevy turns his face to me.
He knows.
I nod towards the door and loop my arm into Tia’s. “It’s best we go,” I say tugging her arm.
She drags her heels. “Wait. What’s going on? Why are they getting spears?”
I run my fingers through my hair as I try to think of the words to explain what is going on.
She’s going to hate me.
